Behind every single-handed race winner lies the backing of a dedicated team.
The old adage 'No man is an Island, entire of it self' is borne out by the fact that such a project
is the result of concerted effort from an united team. From the project's principal partners to the man
in charge of laminating and including the suppliers involved - all bear within themselves a part of Bonduelle
and Jean Le Cam's dreams of victory.
The launch of a boat is the result of a technical adventure where it is necessary to discuss righting,
cockpit ergonomics, the practicality of manoeuvres, running rigging and electrical wiring.
It is also a story of the rapport between men connected by a shared project - to construct the most
beautiful machine to carry high the Bonduelle colours around the world and to aim for victory.
Within this Prévert-style assessment are:
- a skipper who is going to live in the best possible harmony with his machine for several months,
- a team of architects striving to best understand the competitor's expectations and to put them on paper,
- a boatyard that has developed its expertise, making available its personnel, premises and experience,
- a technical boat team who know how to evaluate specifications, make sometimes critical choices, but also laminate,
sandpaper and work hard to find the right part in the right location (and this with no regard to the hours it takes),
- a partner who has chosen to accompany Jean through good and bad times,
- Roland Jourdain and his team, who knew how to share ideas and resources with the Bonduelle team to create two boats for the
next Vendée Globe,
- a yacht, a decorator, painters, a rigging specialist, pals but not pets.
